Angela is the president and co-founder of PAFC. She began her career in the service industry at age 18 as a bartender while attending Robert Morris University and dabbling in real estate investments. Upon completion of school she set out to the business world only to find that her true passion was for the restaurant industry. With an entrepreneurial background, a business management degree and 8 years experience in the industry, the natural progression was to open her own business. With careful consideration, she set out to find what Pittsburgh's restaurant seen was missing. One thing quickly became clear; the local seafood industry was in a downward spiral. With that in mind she went to her long time friend and seafood coinsure, Henry Dewey, for his advice. Coincidently Henry was, in the same boat as she, also looking to open a place of his own so they joined forces and soon Penn Avenue Fish Company appeared on the seen.
Henry is the co-founder and director of operations of PAFC. He was born is Santa Monica, California. Henry began his career in the restaurant industry as a dish washer at age 13. He quickly moved up the restaurant chain to line cook, sous chef and eventually executive chef. At age 21 he realized his passion for fish while working as the executive chef at Sinclair's Seafood Restaurant in New Jersey. Soon Henry decided to leave New Jersey and travel the culinary world, working in places like, Tennessee, New York City, Colorado and the Florida Keys. When he finally decided to settle down, in researching several areas he found that Pittsburgh was rated the "most livable city" . Soon after relocating to Pittsburgh, Henry grew tiresome of working in kitchens and looked to extend his knowledge of fish by becoming a fish monger at Benkovitz Seafoods. After many years of working there, the Benkovitz family retiring and selling the business, Henry realized that the Pittsburgh seafood market was in need of a major facelift. He began devising a plan to open his own fish market. Coincidently, his now partner Angela, came to him proposing a similar idea. Shortly after, Henry and Angela joined forces opening Penn Avenue Fish Company.
